Friday’s Frame ~ Ahhhh summer.

Confession: I made the big announcement a week ago today, and immediately thereafter, Tommy and I RAN. Not as in jogging, as in … ran away.

We hit the road and headed to my sister-in-law’s family cabin for a long weekend away. No cell phone reception, no Facebook messages, no emails, no phone calls … just us, and two of our BFF’s.

It’s nerve-racking to let people know you’re expecting. I just turned 29 a few days back — that’s 29 years of being unpregnant. Sharing the news is ten parts exciting, one part nail-biting. Do people think it’s too soon? Or too late? Maybe too early? (Who cares.) Will my clients still view me in a professional manner? (Yes, they will.) If something happens, how would I ever explain? (It won’t happen, and if it does, the words would come.)

That said, you all made the announcement so easy on me. I can’t express enough gratitude for the congratulatory messages I came home to — the comments, the calls, the emails. It means so much to me that we (and baby!) are in your thoughts and prayers.

Today’s Friday’s Frame is a shot from this past weekend. Honestly, it’s one of the only photos I took for a solid four days straight. Wherever we may go, I always bring my camera along, but whether I pick it up is another story. The sky looked beautiful, the weather was perfect, the guys were fishin’, and my sister-in-law and I were relaxing on the pier. My brother, Ned, is on the right, and Tommy is on the left. I won’t say who caught more fish. (Mostly because I, um … don’t know.) And no, that’s not a fish on the end of Tommy’s line … it’s a lure. A lure that looks like a fish. Used to entice bigger fish. Like bass, or sharks. (OK maybe just bass.)

If anyone ever asks me why I left Florida to move back to Wisconsin, many answers can be gathered from the photo above. 🙂

That’s all for today, my friends. Check back soon for a few wedding posts, as well as a children’s session or two. Until then, enjoy this amazing July weather!
